UPDATE - THE LOCATION OF THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE PRESENTATION ROOM (DOOR 7) AT THE MEDWAY MIDDLE SCHOOL, 45 HOLLISTON ST. The school committee invites families to join town and school officials at the Medway Middle School (Presentation Room - Door 7) on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 7:00 pm for a public forum on the Hanlon Field and Track Project. Participate in the process to learn about the replacement options for the project and provide valuable feedback to help move this project forward.

School Committee meeting tonight, Thursday, April 3, at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to attend the meeting in the Presentation Room (Door 7) at the Medway Middle School, 45 Holliston St. Agenda items include an elementary school update from Amy McDonald, Principal of the McGovern Elementary School, and John Kelley, Principal of the Burke/Memorial School. Discussion items include a first reading of the facility's rental rate, an update on community education's financials, and feedback on the district improvement plan presentation. Action items include the consideration of the approval of the FY26 proposed school department budget, the use of school choice funds to supplement the proposed FY26 budget, approval of the food services management contract, the Superintendent's appointment to ACCEPT collaborative and the Education Collaborative Board of Directors for the '25/'26 school year. Transportation registration for the 2025-2026 school year is LIVE! Registration will be processed through the Parent Portal: https://bit.ly/3oNGS8Z. Please note that ALL students for whom transportation is requested must be registered, including those for whom no payment is required. Registrations requiring payment must be fully paid within 5 days of registration, or the registration will be canceled. A synopsis of the program is as follows: • Students in Kindergarten through 6th Grade who live more than 2 miles from school will receive school transportation at no cost • Students in Kindergarten through 6th Grade who live less than 2 miles from school, and all students in Grades 7-12 who do not qualify for free transportation, can participate in transportation via the district’s Pay to Ride program. The program is structured as follows: There is a $265 annual fee for the first child in a family and a $160 yearly fee for each additional child, with an annual family cap of $585. Students may take a different bus in the morning than in the afternoon, but each bus (morning and afternoon) must be consistent throughout the week. Example of approved scenario: Morning pickup on Bus A at home Afternoon drop-off on Bus B at daycare Example of approved scenario: Morning pickup on Bus A at home Bus to MEDI on M, T, W Either Bus A or Bus B on Th, F (must be the same on both days) *Note: MEDI manages transportation to and from MEDI and is not considered a separate stop In addition, families who meet the federal guidelines for free and reduced lunch will not be required to pay for transportation. At this time, qualification based on the income eligibility guidelines for the 2024/25 school year will provide eligibility for free transit for 2025/26. The School Committee approved the 2025-26 Transportation Handbook at its February 27th meeting. Please note that per Medway School Committee policy JFBB, School Choice students are not eligible for district transportation.

Medway Public Schools is seeking registered nurses to add to our substitute pool. Ensuring that each of our school buildings has daily nursing support is vital to us, and with limited nurses in our substitute pool, this can be very challenging at times. If you are a registered nurse and are interested in being added to our substitute pool, please contact Carly Hofstra, Human Resources Manager, at hr@medwayschools.org.

This month's SUP Medway Friday Night Done Right is proud to host the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office, which will lead students through hands-on activities to strengthen communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Superintendent's Update (dated 3/20/25) talks about the arrival of spring and music in our school month. The Festival Preview Concert and Step-Up Performances were held at Medway High School, during which over 200 high school and grade 8 students showcased outstanding musicianship in exceptional band and choral performances. Congratulations to Medway High School Chorus Teacher Ashley Nelson-Oneschuk on receiving the MICCA Paul Smith Hall of Fame Award for her contributions to music education.
